Is Distance Learning Right For You?

Getting an education is a really important step and with it comes many responsibilities and huge decisions. One of those decisions might be whether or not to take the dive and do completely online education, or distance learning.

Distance learning is the education of students who are not physically present at a school. But not being able to walk through a campus quad or eat at the dining hall doesn’t mean you’re missing out. The biggest advantage of distance learning is that it allows you to fit your learning around your work and home life. You can usually also set your own pace of study, making it your decision as to when and where you study. It doesn’t matter where you live – you can gain a degree from anywhere in the world.

Starting an online degree program can be daunting but at Ashworth College, online learning couldn’t be easier to begin. You can enroll any day of the year and even transfer eligible college credits you may already have. And even though it might be “distance learning,” you’re never too far from the Academic Advisors and Student Services team available to guide you through your college journey.

Lily Cha, who received her Associate’s Degree in Healthcare Administration at Ashworth, says, “I enjoyed my Healthcare Administration program through Ashworth College. I am a full-time employee and full-time mom. Ashworth College gave me the opportunity to study on my own time. Their great staff took the time to make sure I understood my homework and even followed up with me to make sure I completed and returned it on time.”
